Get in the groove with the Nextar MA206-1B digital MP3 player. The compact
device supports a host of audio formats, including MP1, MP2, MP3, WMA,
WMA-DRM10, WMV, ASF, WAV, and MTV's Urge, giving you plenty of options when
working out at the gym or commuting to work. In addition, the MP3 player
displays both JPEG still images and AMV video files on the true color OLED
display, with support for AVI, WMV, ASF, RM, MPEG, MOV, and VOB formats using
the included Movie Converter tool. Listeners will also dig the multiple playback
modes, which include folder repeat, repeat one, repeat all, random play, and
intro play. And should you want to record an interview or take a few voice
notes, the MA206 can handle that, too, with a built-in microphone for recording
voices in WAV and ACT formats.
Storage-wise, the unit offers 1 GB of flash memory, enough for up to 16 hours
of MP3 music and 32 hours of WMA audio. The unit's seven-band equalizer,
meanwhile, lets you customize your audio options, with natural, rock, pop, soft,
classic, jazz, and digital bass boost settings. Add in an E-book viewer--which
lets you catch up on your reading in TXT format--and you have everything you
need for on-the-go entertainment. Other details include a built-in rechargeable
lithium-ion battery; a sync lyric function that displays the lyrics to your
favorite songs while you listen (requires LRC files); an intuitive, icon-based
menu system; a USB 2.0 interface; and an attractive blue housing. The MA206,
which runs for roughly five hours per charge, measures 2.51 by 1.06 by 0.6
inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a 90-day warranty.
